King's Quarter's
king thaellon was born into a society of high elves who each ascended the throne. after his coronation, he spotted a "gift" that would change his path forever. with the tragic history between high elves and dark elves, he felt a calling to unite the two. he raised firavain as his own despite the protests from his subjects and offered a life of peace to all. all was seemingly well until rumors of humans near tauriel fell upon the kingdom. there had been talk of destroyed temples and charred remains of ancestral pieces but thaellon was assured it would pass. when it didn't, he formed a plan for an alliance to protect the one he cared for most.
A grand coronation took place in my honor today as I became King of Tauriel. The castle was decorated with our royal colors, and all throughout the kingdom attend. As I accepted the title, there were smiling faces throughout the crowd. Yet, I am fearful of not measuring up to my father’s legacy. Our people have not felt plagued for centuries under his rule, but if disaster did strike, I fear we would not prevail. Although we’re shrouded within an ancient forest, the land around us is changing. Times like this I wish the creator would offer me a sign. I sat alone with my thoughts for a while until I heard a peculiar noise coming from my window. As I rushed down the corridors to the main floor, I opened the front doors with curiosity. Wrapped within a thick garment was a child, an elven child to be exact. Except...it was no High Elf but a Dark Elf. I rushed back up to my chambers afraid of detection and called in my most loyal servant for assistance. If this is the sign I was looking for, I am wary of what’s to come.

I made a decision that has altered the Kingdom greatly but it’s for a bigger purpose. Recently I’ve learned of a settlement of humans outside of our gates. Though we are guarded, the kingdom is worried about what is to come. I have seen the destruction that humans cause firsthand, tireless beings. I have a new purpose and that is to protect Firavain. Besides, what kind of King turns away someone in need. Despite the indifferences that our people have, I don’t believe the child should pay the price. I met with a human called "Aelfric" to discuss peace relations. This may be the first step towards attaining peace between our people. After all, we are stronger in numbers and an alliance would be favorable.

I want to believe that those around me are trustworthy but, I must remain cautious. After I put the laws into place, I knew there would be outliers. Not everyone believes that humans are destructive, some choose to think otherwise. I am not against free speech but actions require consequence. It goes without saying that those disobeying the laws are handled accordingly. Set to be outcasts from their community, never to be seen again. The guards keep me updated on a daily basis and without remorse, I make the call. However, there has been talk recently that Firavain is meeting in secret with the humans. These claims that the guards are making seem to be without merit. Why would Firavain betray me when I’ve laid my title down to protect her? I must get to the bottom of this deceit and clear her name; it is unbecoming for someone such as her to bring shame to the throne.

She doesn’t understand or care for our customs and traditions but instead chooses to live in a fairytale with those humans. After what the guards have shared, I no longer trust the safety of my daughter. I wish she could see the destruction that they cause. Tauriel is a place for peace, prosperity, and ascension. The humans look to locate the source and drain it dry but I will not let them. Everything they touch begins to rot from the inside out, they’re sucking the life from our world. I cannot bear for Firavain to suffer the same fate. I must stop them before it's too late or I'll lose her forever.

I am not sure which manipulation tactics they have enforced upon her but she will be found and restored. The fate of the kingdom depends on it, my reputation is at stake. What will my subjects think if I cannot make true to this promise? It seems the agreement I have made with Aelfric no longer stands and is now declared void. I will call on every force that I can to destroy their army, they will fear the wrath of a true King.
